We said cheers, wore glitter, and watched the ball drop but with a new year should come some type of change right? Personally I am not a big fan of New Years Resolutions but I can set a goal or two as a form of reflection from 2017.

My number one goal for the coming year is to focus on self care. Self care is imperative and looks different for each of us. I had to find what helped me relax among school life and social life. Face masks, an oil diffuser, and alternative R&B seemed to be my perfect mix. In 2017 I realized that reigning in my social butterfly was actually healthy. Don't get me wrong, I love my friends and hanging out but I needed to find things that made me happy independently. One hobby I discovered was bullet journaling. A bullet journal is a self made planner tailored to the ways that I would like to see a planner laid out. Although it is a lot of work, it's enjoyable and keeps my creative juices flowing. Noticing that reading magazines or books, planning my bullet journal, or simply running errands on my own brought me joy, and were small aspects of self growth.

Along with self care, I want to travel a lot this year, whether it be a day trip or month long trip but traveling is an eye opening experience. Because I already have some trips planned for the coming year, it added to my reason for starting this blog. To welcome the year, myself and a high school friend, Leena took a day trip to Raleigh, North Carolina. We were not exactly sure what the day would bring us but we ate...a lot, drank coffee, explored a chocolate factory, a denim factory and shopped; all well worth the trip.

So, as we adjust our lives to our new found goals. I ask you all to join me as I challenge myself with goals I would've never dreamt of tackling. A New Year brings hope and with hope can come determination. Cheers to the New Year!
